Vikings squeak past Panthers, 24-21
The Minnesota Vikings saw their rookie quarterback get his first career victory in a 24-21 win over the Carolina Panthers.
While the Vikings aren’t suddenly a playoff contender in the NFC, they are much more interesting to watch since benching Donovan McNabb.
Christian Ponder has proven to be a an upgrade over McNabb, who seems more interested in collecting a paycheck than making plays.
While he has only seen action in three games, Ponder is doing a good job of utliizing his medicore receivers and moving the ball down the field.
The Vikings also benefitted from a chip-shot field goal missed by Olindo Mare that would have tied the game at the end of regulation.
