Vikings fire Childress

The Minnesota Vikings fired head coach Brad Childress after Sunday’s embarassing loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings weren’t even competitive in the 31-3 loss, and it was the last straw for owner Zigi Wilf.

Childress was almost fired a few weeks ago when he told players that Randy Moss had been released without first consulting the front office.

He managed to retain his job with a win over the Cardinals, but two straight losses and lack of player support was his undoing. ( Read More…)

Vikings stumble against Bears, 27-13

The Minnesota Vikings fell apart and may have lost any playoff hopes in a 27-13 loss to the host Chicago Bears.

Quarterback Brett Favre threw for just 170 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions, but the numbers are very deceiving.

One of Favre’s passes was deflected at the line of scrimmage and caught by a defender, while his wide receivers slipped on the two other interceptions.

A lot of Favre’s incompletions also weren’t his fault but rather that of the receiver who wasn’t adjusting to the coverages. ( Read More…)

Vikings rally past Cardinals, 27-24

The Minnesota Vikings rallied back for season-saving, 27-24 overtime victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Quarterback Brett Favre threw for a career-high 446 yards and two touchdowns in orchestrating the comeback.

Minnesota fell behind by two touchdowns entering the fourth quarter, thanks to two scores surrendered on special teams.

However, instead of just packing things in, Favre and wideout Percy Harvin would not let the season get away from them. ( Read More…)

Vikings fall to Patriots, 28-18

The visiting Minnesota Vikings couldn’t quite pull it out in a 28-18 loss to the New England Patriots.

Quarterback Brett Favre was able to play and did so at a high level before eventually being knocked out of the game.

Tavaris Jackson came on in relief of Favre and did well enough in less than a quarter’s worth of action.

Wide receiver Randy Moss finished with just one catch for eight yards, and the Vikings need to find a way to get him the ball. ( Read More…)

Favre admits to voicemails, not pictures

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has admitted to the NFL that he left voicemails to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger.

However, Favre vehemently denied that he sent the woman any lewd pictures with his cell phone.

Sterger has been silent on the issue, and her representation hasn’t said much to the media, either.

However, she has apparently brought in the FBI to investigate the incident, which seems rather bizarre. ( Read More…)
